FASHION AS SEEN FROM BEHIND

Palais Galliera presents Backside/Dos à la Mode at the Musée Bourdelle in Paris. Dedicated to garments seen from the 18th century until now, the museum unveils more than 100 pieces and accessories.

What does fashion and its creators such as Chanel, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Schiaparelli, Alaïa, Martin Margiela and Olivier Theyskens have to say about this part of our body? How, from the 18th century costume to the present day, has the back been treated or abused, sublimated or forgotten, hindered or protected? This exhibition reveals it all.
